AH

Ahmad & Hana

Alor Setar, Kedah

"We'd been putting off talking properly about money for almost two years. The session was calmer than I expected β€” no arguing, just structure. We came out with a goals list we both actually agreed on. That alone was worth it."

"The budget spreadsheet is genuinely useful. We use it every month now. I'd have liked a bit more time in the online session to go through the numbers side, but the conversation tools were the main thing we needed and those were very good."

Zul & Farah

"We joined the full Partners Planning Programme. It was several weeks and honestly it changed how we talk β€” not just about money but about planning in general. The group sessions were especially helpful because hearing other couples made us realise our situation wasn't unusual."

Syazwan & Yatie

Kulim, Kedah

"My husband and I come from very different financial backgrounds. What helped most was that the facilitator didn't take sides or make either of us feel like we were doing it 'wrong'. We left with a shared plan and, more importantly, a way of talking that we've stuck to."

"We did the Toolkit because we couldn't make the in-person sessions and the online format worked well. The community is small but active and Mei Shan responds quickly when we post questions. The prompt cards have been used more than I thought they would be."

Norzaimi & Rozita

"We attended the Planning Programme after our first year of marriage. Honestly we didn't have major money arguments but we also never really sat down and planned together. Florinora gave us both the language and the habit. The certificate was a nice touch too."

CASE STUDIES

How It Looked in Practice

A closer look at three couples' experiences β€” from the situation they came with to where they ended up.

AH

Ahmad & Hana β€” Alor Setar

MONEY-TALK SESSION

STARTING POINT

Ahmad and Hana had been avoiding the money conversation for nearly two years. Both had separate spending habits and hadn't discussed a joint approach to saving. The topic felt loaded.

WHAT HELPED

The single facilitated session gave them a structure neither had used before. The prompt cards made it easier to bring up topics without it feeling like a confrontation. The goals worksheet surfaced two shared priorities they didn't know they agreed on.

WHERE THEY GOT TO

Within two weeks they had set up a joint savings goal and agreed a simple monthly check-in format. "We finally have something written down that belongs to both of us," Hana said.

PARTNERS PLANNING PROGRAMME

STARTING POINT

Dual-income couple with different approaches to spending and different ideas about what "saving enough" meant. Disagreements about money had started appearing more regularly in daily life.

WHAT HELPED

The multi-session programme gave them enough time to work through their different starting points. The group format helped β€” seeing other couples navigate similar differences made their own feel more manageable rather than unique.

WHERE THEY GOT TO

They completed the full programme and both described it as a shift in how they approach money conversations generally. "It became less about being right and more about finding what works for us as a pair," Farah noted.

RN

Rauf & Nadia β€” Sungai Petani

TOOLKIT & COMMUNITY

STARTING POINT

Both were aware they needed a better system for managing household finances but found most budgeting tools weren't designed for two people with separate accounts and incomes.

WHAT HELPED

The joint budget spreadsheet gave them a format that actually accounted for two incomes and different spending categories. The community was a low-pressure place to ask practical questions without feeling judged.

WHERE THEY GOT TO

They now review their budget together each month. "Three months in and we've actually saved more than we expected β€” not because of advice, just because we're talking about it regularly now," Rauf shared.
